Backups run daily and the data is kept for a maximum of 5 days before being replaced with the latest incremental version. A separate backup runs on the 1st of each month and is kept for the entire month, this backup is then replaced on the 1st of the next month when the backup job runs again.
We do not guarantee backups and we advise that you keep a separate backup of your files and databases remotely e.g. on your computer’s hard drive, external hard drive or burnt onto a CD/DVD.
Daily Incremental backups are made of the user’s home directory as well as MySQL databases. The user’s home directory will include site content, web logs and any mail that was on the server at the time of the backup. This means that any mail arriving after the backup has completed and downloaded before the next backup takes place, will not be included in the backup.
Backup Restore Tools and Jetbackup in cPanel allows customers to restore web files and databases from their recent backups, these tools also allow clients to download a full backup to their local machine for safekeeping.
Restores can also be requested via email to firstname.lastname@example.org if needed.
